Spring at Tillmouth Park

Spring blossom abounds and the countryside awakes from its winter slumber. Nowhere is this more pronounced than at Tillmouth Park, with 15 acres of landscaped grounds and natural woodland, its awakening is spectacular.

tpportraitThis is when the vast drifts of snowdrops in early spring fade away into a mass of bluebells towards the start of summer and the castles and stately homes begin to open their doors to visitors after their winter closures. Boat trips to the Farne Islands are very special at this time of year when you can see the nesting puffin colonies, the arctic terns and the seals. You will enjoy the freshness of the days as you find your walking legs again after the winter period and waiting for you back at the hotel after a busy day, a welcoming dinner made with fresh spring produce.

At this time of year, home-grown lovage makes a delightful soup and Northumberland lamb is especially delicious served with either our own wild garlic leaves or mint. Trout is delicious at this time of year and in-season rhubarb often makes an appearance on our menus.
